I don’t feel that I can properly convey my excitement about sharing these books with you each month. It may be because I am an avid reader at heart. It might also be because I love music. And when you…
Have you ever gone out of your way to contact a studio parent because of something amazing their child did? What was their reaction? Sometimes you’ll get a smile big enough that you can even hear it over the phone.…
It’s recital season. And as strange as last year was when the world was in complete shut down, this year is even more unsettled. Some teachers have the ability to safely hold in-person recitals, some have set up outdoor venues,…

It’s been awhile since we’ve done a resource roundup on the blog, and coming off of Black History Month and Women’s History Month I’ve been doing a lot of extra thinking about incorporating history into my lesson plans 🙂 Today’s…
This month’s book was published late 2020, and has already become a favorite of mine! It’s complete title is Music and How it Works: The Complete Guide for Kids – published by DK publishing. This month though, I’m including it…

As I write, it is one of those perfectly rainy days. I don’t want to be outside – it’s wet and cold. And the mood just screams that I should grab what I’m reading, find a cozy chair, and curl…

Thanks for stopping by Piano Possibilities! My name is McKenzie Pausch, and I have been in love with teaching since 2010. As I started teaching out of my parent’s living room in high school, I had no idea how much of an impact I could choose to have on the students that walk through my door, and the even greater influence my students would have on me! My hope is that by reading this blog, teachers will be inspired and equipped to teach their students the way their students need to learn. If you as a teacher are aware of your student’s needs and are having fun, your students are bound to have fun too!
