Hey y’all!
Hope you all are enjoying the long weekend and taking the extra time to spend with family 🙂
Lessons continue as normal this week. Just a few notes as we head into the week-
~ We have a fingerstyle guitarist performing at the store Sunday, Feb 23rd at 7 pm. Tickets are $15 advance and $20 at the door. Live music is a very important part of how we learn as musicians. Come out and hear some great music! More details at facebook.com/skylinemusic
~ Our Composer of the Month is Handel. This week’s listening should sound very familiar! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6_nJ11BgTE&feature=emb_title
~ This week’s Practice Trick: “Always play the correct fingering”
“Practicing is basically creating habits – so when you play a piece with different fingers each time, or a fingering that is different from what your teacher or the music book editor suggests, you are creating a bad habit that makes the piece harder than it should be. Focus on playing the correct fingering from day one and playing it the same way each time – you will learn the piece lots faster this way!”

See you in the studio,
~McKenzie
