Hey y’all,
More news today … which obviously brings more changes. I imagine that you’re probably as tired as I am about the “wait and see” game for the news each day. Due to the governor’s mandates, we will be suspending all in-person lessons for the time being. I want you all to stay as safe and healthy as possible … we are all in this together!
Please remember – there are no lessons planned for this week, as I was originally supposed to be out of town. Lessons will resume Monday, March 30th.
We are now down to original options 2 and 3 for moving forward –
- For those who desire to stay at home at all times, I am willing to do online lessons. To begin with, we will start with Skype or Facetime – whichever is best available to you. Hours open for this will be Wednesday and Thursday from 12-4. Please contact me to schedule a time that will work best for you 🙂
- The final option is more flexible. You can feel free to send me videos of you playing, and in turn I will give feedback and help you know when to move on. I will also send worksheets and activities to be doing at home (everyone will be getting this… but especially those who choose option 3). Students will still be expected to keep up with their work and check in. This is the perfect time to be making progress!
I will now be offering Monday-Thursday 12-4 pm as scheduled lesson times. If you have already contacted me to schedule a time, that will remain the same. For those who had planned to come to the store, I will plan on an online lesson at the requested time unless I hear otherwise. For those who had already requested extra lessons, we can make that happen as well.
Please be aware that in the coming weeks, we might be able to move back into the original 3 option model (pending it no longer being a health and safety issue). If you were originally planning to come into the store, it would help the transition if you could stick with Monday or Tuesday time even as we go online.
I know that we are ALL in transition right now. It is truly my belief that it is easier to be flexible with an existing plan than to try and operate with no plan at all. Please respond to schedule a lesson time. If you have any concerns with either option 2 or 3, please reach out to me so we can talk about it 🙂
As promised, I will be taking lots of time this week to make sure I can be as prepared as possible to teach online lessons well. This is new territory for us all! Keep your eyes posted for info here over email, on our facebook page (@mckenziespianostudio), and on the Student tab of the website (pianopossibilities.org).
On a non-music related note… please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you in any way. I want to be here for you to keep music going in your lives, but also because I dearly love and care about each one of you and your families. Do not hesitate to reach out if I (or both me and my husband) can be of help to you!
I look forward to hearing from you,
~McKenzie
